Description

Antique traditional low pidha chair made in the Swat valley of Northern Pakistan probably, or the Nuristan region of Afghanistan, in the early 1900s most likely. Hardwood construction with geometric chip carvings and turned feet. Woven fibre seat; strip of hide between the two top posts (it's not broken; that's AI getting over keen whilst removing the background). Condition is fairly good: structurally it's pretty sound; a little movement in the back but not much. Some splits in the wood but stable. There's a big chunk missing from the inside of one front foot (see pics). The odd broken strand in the seat. Cosmetically it has various dings, and scuffs etc but nothing out of place in the rustic style of the piece. We have another similar one on here. Ask for a price for the two: delivery would be no extra. Dimensions: 46cm wide x 45cm x 75cm high (seat height 18cm)
